It applied for building permits to construct a factory in Yazd, but because of the economic downturns and financial issues, the project remained suspended. In 2008, followed by a shortage of some medicines Yazd, the Subject of distributing medicine was added to the company statutes and the purpose of the company was changed from production to distribution. After obtaining the necessary permits in the field of distribution, the company was put into operation immediately in 2008.
Shafagh which distributed different types of pharmaceutical, medical, cosmetics and hygienic products, turned into the first regional distributing company in Yazd. Due to its mission, its extensive network of distributing products was equipped with refrigerated warehousing facilities and trucks. Therefore, Shafagh obtained the license of refrigerated medicinal products from Ministry of Health& Medical Education in 2009. Getting well-known representations, providing high-quality products and services, prepared Shafagh to reach its best level of services in the shortest possible time. Accordingly, after the first year of activity, Shafagh surpassed its prestigious rivals and achieved the third place in the evaluation of the Food and Drug Administration in 2009. Increasing sales, Raising turnover, Drawing on expertise, training personnel continuously, improving customer services, obtaining the necessary standards such as GDP and GMP, led up to wining the first position at the last evaluation conducted by the Food and Drug administration in Yazd in 2015. Two reputable companies, Adorateb and Deydaroo, respectively since 2010 and 2015 signed an agreement with Shafagh to supply pharmaceutical products. They awarded the Sales and distribution of their products to Shafagh. Today, Shafagh company annual turnover is about 12000000 USD.
Shafagh has two subsidiaries: Shafagh pharmacy and Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd. Shafagh Pharmacy got started in 1991 in the south of Tehran. In1996 and with the withdrawal of one of the partners, it was decided to move the pharmacy to a better location. Therefore, the construction of a new building with a larger warehouse for storage of medicines and a better showcase environment began. Over the past few years, due to its unique and professional services to its large number of customers, Shafagh pharmacy has become elite in the south of Tehran and has been put in the top ten lists, among 8000 pharmacies. Nowadays, Shafagh pharmacy, with over 25 years of proud history, has the annual turnover around 1.600.000 USD.
Of course Shafagh-e Yazd pharmaceutical company purpose has never been merely setting up a distributing company, but the comprehensive view has been to create and start an activity in the new field, broaden the activity, and finally reaching the production. To accomplish this goal and also to overtake the international trading activities, Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd was established in 2009. Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd was also put in charged for providing products with successful sale potential, communicating with global brand with Competitive Capabilities, obtaining their representation, marketing their products, producing and distributing their products under licensed in Iran.
As the first mission, its negotiations were finalized with two well-known supplement manufacturers, Universal Nutrition and Animal Pak, both among the top 5 brands in their field at 2012. Shafagh Gostar-e-Yazd has also succeeded in getting the OFAC License from the United States and has been legally authorized to sign exclusive agency agreements with aforementioned American companies since 2013. During these negotiations, Shafagh Gostar-e-Yazd also got the representation of another American company called Dermae which was active in the field of cosmetics, but because of political issues, these projects were left futile.
Last year, Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd negotiation with Roshen chocolate company has been finalized and this company entered the market of sweet and chocolate. Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd also strengthens its wide distribution network of commercial partners in Iran and makes products available in approximately all big cities across the country through its broad modern platform. Continuous presence in domestic exhibitions and launching agencies in different cities prepared the company with excellent experiences in this field. However Shafagh Gostar-e Yazd is a newly established company, its annual turnover is around 9.500.000 USD.
